Social Contagion on Higher-Order Structures

چکیده
In this Chapter, we discuss the effects of higher-order structures on SIS-like processes social contagion. After a brief motivational introduction where illustrate standard SIS process networks and difference between simple complex contagions, introduce spreading starting from most general formulation hypergraphs then moving to several mean-field heterogeneous approaches. The results highlight rich phenomenology brought by taking into account contagion effects: both continuous discontinuous transitions are observed, critical mass emerge. We conclude with short discussion theoretical regarding nature epidemic transition need for data validate these models.

The instrumental use of social networks has become a central tenet of international health policy and advocacy since the Millennium project. متن کاملRanking Users in Social Networks with Higher-Order Structures
PageRank has been widely used to measure the authority or the influence of a user in social networks. However, conventional PageRank only makes use of edge-based relations, ignoring higher-order structures captured by motifs, subgraphs consisting of a small number of nodes in complex networks. In this paper, we propose a novel framework, motif-based PageRank (MPR), to incorporate higher-order s...
متن کاملHigher order Hessian structures on manifolds
In this paper we define nth order Hessian structures on manifolds and study them. In particular, when n = 3, we make a detailed study and establish a one-to-one correspondence between third-order Hessian structures and a certain class of connections on the second-order tangent bundle of a manifold. Further, we show that a connection on the tangent bundle of a manifold induces a connection on th...
متن کاملHow to Facilitate Social Contagion?
Achieving the Millennium Development Goals has proven to be a real challenge. Providing evidence on cost-effective interventions did not prove to be sufficient to secure the trust of national authorities, health care providers and patients. Introducing change in a health system requires a good understanding of the relationships between the actors of the system. Social network analysis can provi...
